From VPAM:

Full of Tears is the first solo museum exhibition of multidisciplinary artist and designer Gabriela Ruiz, also known as Leather Papi. Speculating on the mechanics of memory and the intersections of technology and emotion, Ruiz uses 3-D rendering, video mapping, and installation to investigate questions of the self. For this exhibition, Ruiz creates a digital self-portrait amidst an immersive gallery space incorporating sound and color. In a surrealist line of inquiry, Ruiz posits on the persistence of memory, automatism, and the self-conscious.

Join us as we celebrate the closing of Gabriela Ruiz: Full of Tears, the artist’s first solo museum exhibition. This not-to-be-missed performance and party will take place off-site at Civic Center Studios, Downtown Los Angeles. Doors open at 9:00 pm and a performance by Gabriela Ruiz will take place at 10:00 pm. The event will also feature DJ sets by Cali Dewitt, Siete Catorce, Foreigner, and BASECK.
